Ingredients

  • 4 slices of rye bread

  • 4-6 ounces of thinly sliced pastrami

  • 2 tablespoons of spicy brown mustard

  • 2 slices of Swiss cheese

  • 1/2 cup of sauerkraut

  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat a large skillet over medium heat.
    Take two slices of rye bread and spread a generous amount of spicy brown mustard on each slice.

  2. Layer the pastrami evenly over one slice of bread. Top with the Swiss cheese and cover with the other slice of bread, mustard-side down.

  3. Spread the softened butter on the outside of each slice of bread.

  4. Place the sandwich in the preheated skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown.

  5. Carefully flip the sandwich using a spatula and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and the other side of the bread is golden brown.

  6. Remove the sandwich from the skillet and transfer it onto a cutting board. Allow it to cool for a minute.

  7. Open the sandwich and add the sauerkraut on top of the pastrami.

  8. Close the sandwich and slice it in half diagonally.
    Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious pastrami sandwich!
